Key West Reef Snorkeling
It's a short 20-minute ride to the barrier reef, one of Key West’s most famous snorkeling destinations! We always choose a less frequented location, which equates to plentiful undisturbed sea life.
Our breathtaking, living coral reef is home to many of the local marine life. Expect to experience 1000’s of colorful tropical fish, sea turtles, sea fans, sea anemones and lobsters while snorkeling this underwater world.
Visiting the barrier reef is subject to weather and ocean conditions. But there are no worries in Key West! We know all the safe snorkeling locations that will be just as exciting to explore in higher winds!
Key West Snorkeling for Beginners
Snorkeling at the sandbars is perfect for beginners because of the shallow water and calm conditions. There are mangrove trees, limestone ledges and sponges where you will have the opportunity to see fish and plant life.
We have snorkeling locations for all skill levels to discover these amazing creatures from a safe distance while enjoying one of Florida's most spectacular views.
Shipwreck Snorkeling in Key West
Beyond being unbelievably cool to explore, shipwrecks are home to 100’s of fish guaranteed!
We know of several wrecks in the area including the pictured “Sialia”. Henry Ford originally owned this yacht and sold it to the US Navy.

The sponge gardens are home to lobsters, fish, squid, sting rays, sea fans and much more when you take the time to look closely! This area is great for all levels as it is approximately 5ft deep and offers calm seas.

Snorkeling for Lobster in Key West
Not to be confused with fishing for lobster! We will take you on a guided snorkeling adventure to some rock ledges where the lobsters like to hang out. Your captain will in share some techniques on who to best use the tickle stick and net.
We highly recommend snorkeling experience and having the ability to dive 5-10ft for optimal results but we welcome beginners and are happy to help you learn. All gear is included.

We have snorkeling locations for all levels and ages- Kids, Teens, and Adults.
Some snorkeling locations are weather dependent and may have strong current.
A snorkeling trip is a single Excursion, and we can fit multiple excursions into a charter!
~ Pick between a Half Day Charter and a Full Day Charter to plan your own adventure.One charter can fit up to six people.
~ We have 2 Boats for groups up to 12 and we can coordinate more local captains for larger groups.
~ Contact Us for a discount on groups larger than 6!The itinerary for the day is completely customizable to your group’s preference.

Do you take last minute bookings?
Happily! Please do not hesitate to Contact Us or Book a Charter for same-day bookings!
What should we expect?
Expect to witness incredible views like you’ve never seen before! We will encounter wildlife, anything from turtles, dolphins, sting rays, birds, and more. We will drive through protected mangrove areas and pick from an assortment of beautiful white sandbars. We can customize as we go, snorkel along the way, fish, look for dolphins etc.
What if the weather is bad?
We will cancel/reschedule if there is thunder and/or lightning. If it is just windy we can find many hidden spots to have a wonderful experience and still remain very safe.
